Privacy Policy

Who we are

Sëëk is an early-stage dating app project operated by its founding team. We are currently in private beta and are not yet incorporated as a company.

Sëëk is currently operated by Natchapon Roengkarn, Thailand, a member of the founding team who manages the Sëëk website and waitlist and decides how the information described here is collected, used and kept. Privacy questions and requests go to privacy@sëëk.com. In this policy, “Sëëk”, “we” and “us” mean Sëëk and its founding team.

This policy covers the Sëëk website at sëëk.com, the Sëëk waitlist and the emails we send and receive about them. It does not cover the Sëëk app.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist

• Your email address. It’s the only thing the form asks for. We store it in lower case with spaces removed, so the same address can’t be added twice.
• Waitlist details we record with it: when you joined; whether you’re currently on the list or have removed yourself, and when; which part of the site the signup came from (a short label, not a tracking code); whether and when your confirmation email was sent, with a short technical reason if sending failed; which version of this Privacy Policy was shown to you when you joined, or when you chose to rejoin, and when; and a random code that makes the removal link in our emails work. That code is not based on your email address.

To protect the waitlist from abuse

• To limit repeated or automated signups, our server keeps a short record of recent attempts linked to a scrambled, one-way version of your IP address (a keyed hash), never the address itself. Each record only covers the last 24 hours of attempts, and inactive records are cleared automatically. Your IP address is not stored with your waitlist entry.
• The form also checks simple signals, such as how quickly it was submitted and a hidden field that only automated tools fill in. These checks are not stored with your address.
• Our server keeps a private technical log of events, such as signups, rejected or rate-limited attempts and errors, with the time. It is designed not to record email or IP addresses, although an error report from one of our providers can occasionally include the address it relates to. Entries are deleted automatically after 90 days.

When you visit the website

• Like any website, the servers and network of our hosting provider automatically process technical information about each request: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We may review these logs to keep the site secure and working.
• Everything our pages need, including their typefaces, is served from sëëk.com itself. Our pages don’t load content, fonts or scripts from other companies.
• We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. What your browser stores for our site is described under Cookies and local storage.

When you email us

• If you write to us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you include in it. We use it only to reply and to deal with your request.

Cookies and local storage

Sëëk does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and our pages contain no tracking pixels or third-party tracking scripts. Your browser may store two small items for our site, and neither is used to track you:

• Your theme choice (seek-theme, in your browser’s local storage). If you switch between light and dark, your browser remembers your choice on your device. It is never sent to us, and it stays until you clear your browser’s site data.
• A security cookie from our hosting provider (hcdn, set by Hostinger). Hostinger’s network can run an automatic check to tell real visitors apart from automated traffic. When it does, it sets this cookie to remember that your browser passed the check. It is strictly necessary to protect the site, it can’t be read by our pages, and it is deleted when you close your browser.

Because we only use storage that is strictly necessary or that remembers a choice you made, we don’t show a cookie banner. If we ever add anything else, we’ll update this section first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

How we use it

• To keep your place on the waitlist and send you one email confirming it.
• To email you when early access to Sëëk is ready for you.
• To act on removal and privacy requests.
• To protect the waitlist and the website from abuse, and to keep them working.

We don’t sell your information, share it for advertising, or use it to build a profile of you.

Where the law asks us to name a legal basis: we use your email address because you asked to join the waitlist (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time), and we keep security and server records because we have a legitimate interest in protecting the service.

Emails and removal

After you join, we send one confirmation email. If you submit the same address again, we don’t send another one.

Every email includes a Remove this address link. Using it takes your address off the list straight away, and we won’t email you again. We keep your address marked as removed, so it can’t be quietly added back. If you later choose to join again yourself, your place is restored and we send one new confirmation.

If you’d like your address deleted completely rather than marked as removed, contact us (see Contact).

Our emails don’t contain tracking pixels. Any images in them load from our website when your email app displays them, and many email apps fetch those images on your behalf.

Service providers

We use a small number of companies to run the website and waitlist. They process information on our behalf, to provide their service to us:

• Hostinger hosts the website, the waitlist database and our email inbox, and delivers the website through its content delivery network (privacy policy).
• Resend sends our waitlist emails, so it receives your email address and the message we send you (privacy policy).

We don’t share waitlist information with anyone else, unless the law requires us to.

Where it is processed

Our website hosting is in Singapore and our waitlist emails are sent from Resend’s Japan (Tokyo) region. Our providers’ networks, including the service that hosts our email inbox, also operate in other countries. That may be outside the country you live in, where data protection rules can differ. We use established providers that publish how they protect the information they process.

How long we keep it

• Waitlist entries are kept while Sëëk is in private beta and early access, until you remove yourself or ask us to delete them. Removed addresses are kept, marked as removed, so we honour your choice. Ask us and we’ll delete them completely.
• Anti-abuse records cover only the last 24 hours of attempts and clear themselves.
• Technical logs are kept for 90 days, then deleted automatically.
• Emails people send us are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, handle the request, and maintain appropriate records.
• Hosting and email delivery records held by Hostinger and Resend are kept under their own policies.

Security

The website is served only over HTTPS. The system that stores waitlist information sits outside the public part of the website, its credentials are never published, and the private dashboard we use to manage the waitlist is password-protected. Access is limited to the people who run Sëëk. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, but we take care to protect what you share with us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• see the information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
• correct it if it’s wrong;
• have it deleted;
• withdraw your consent, or object to how we use it;
• complain to your local data protection authority.

The quickest way to leave the list is the Remove this address link in any of our emails. For anything else, contact us and tell us the email address you used. We may need to check that the address is yours before we act on a request. We’ll reply as soon as we can, and within the time the law requires.

Age

Sëëk is for adults. The waitlist is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe someone under 18 has joined, contact us and we’ll delete their address.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the ‘Last updated’ date when we do. Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
